The Antelope Valley Interfaith Council (AVIC) is a body of religious leaders who seek to unite in mutual support, study, dialogue and action. Our faiths motivate us to:
- Acknowledge the inherent and God-given dignity of all people;
- Share a compassion for all, regardless of race, gender, age, abilities, or sexual orientation;
- Embrace our commonality and diversity, both of which enhance us and bring us wisdom;
- Seek to be a collective voice for human rights and justice in our own faith communities, the Antelope Valley, and in the larger community.
We welcome into our fellowship all leaders of religious communities who share these convictions and purposes.
Additional information:
One of our missions is to provide a forum in which members of various faiths may exchange ideas and learn from each other’s teachings in order to build a better community.
The Antelope Valley is rich with various cultures, religions, and ethnic backgrounds. It is for this reason, we, as a community, should work together to better understand these differences and embrace them as one of the main factors that make the Antelope Valley such a special place to live.
The Antelope Valley Interfaith Council provides an arena for religious leaders to discuss their communities concerns and to share community activities, which may be of interest to others. We work together to raise money for local charities and sponsor events for the benefit of the Antelope Valley and the congregational members of the various clergy on our council.
